Since the downturn began there started the process of blocking foreign workers from entering the country through the H1B/L1 visa process. This was a constructive step towards letting local countrymen access to jobs than foreigners.
But what the Obama administration has to realize is that even if it cuts or puts down regulations in its visa process, it still has to be very active in approving well deserving oe selective candidates, who are entitled to this visa. The new trend is to block anyone and everyone. This is because during the last 10 yrs or so many foreign workers have been involved in the abuse of this visas through agents from their respective countries. Herding all would only but hurt the well deserving ones.
